Underground railway: Line 2 is the city portion of the so called “very fast” route that with its Piazza Garibaldi-Villa Literno stretch connects Naples with Formia and Rome. Line 2 covers a route of about 16 kilometers between the Pozzuoli - Napoli Gianturco stations. The 8 kilometers between Piazza Garibaldi and Mergellina are tunnels.

Currently, the underground railway runs go from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm with 260 runs. The rate of the runs during rush hour is 8 minutes, with 12 circulating trains in use. To cover the whole route, each train employs about 29 minutes. |
